Terms of Use for HODL Time

Welcome to HODL Time. Throughout these terms, references to "the app" refer to HODL Time across its supported Apple surfaces. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms.
1. Use Of The App
- HODL Time is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
- The app is designed to help users reduce compulsive Bitcoin price checking by locking the visible price for a chosen duration.
- Features can vary across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, widgets, and other supported Apple system surfaces.
- You agree not to misuse, copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app except as allowed by applicable law.
- The app and its features are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
2. Early Unlocks And In-App Purchases
- Users can earn free early unlocks by reaching cumulative HODL milestones such as 1 hour, 8 hours, 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month.
- The app also offers optional paid early unlocks as consumable in-app purchases on iPhone and iPad. Current purchase options may include 1, 3, or 10 early-unlock credits.
- All paid early unlock purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by country, currency, taxes, and App Store pricing rules.
- Paid early unlocks are optional convenience features for ending a lock early. They are not subscriptions, recurring charges, financial products, cryptocurrency, stored value, gift cards, or cash equivalents.
- Early unlock credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred, cannot be exchanged for money or cryptocurrency, and can only be used inside HODL Time.
- Early unlock credits are device-specific unless the app expressly states otherwise. Credits purchased or earned on iPhone and credits purchased or earned on iPad are separate and do not transfer between those devices.
- Purchased early unlock credits do not expire, but they are consumed when used to end a lock early.
- Used consumable purchases cannot be restored by Apple. "Restore Purchases" is intended only to recover unfinished purchases that Apple still makes available for delivery.
- Refund requests and billing issues are handled by Apple under the App Store's purchase and refund processes.
- Apple Watch is a companion surface for paired iPhone state and existing iPhone credit use where supported; purchase flows are handled on iPhone and iPad.
3. Financial And Market Data Disclaimer
- HODL Time does not provide financial, investment, tax, or trading advice.
- All price, percentage-change, and historical information is provided for informational purposes only.
- Nothing in the app should be interpreted as a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold Bitcoin or any other asset.
- You are solely responsible for your investment decisions and should consult a qualified adviser where appropriate.
4. Data And Privacy
- The app is designed to store data locally on your device and does not require an account.
- When needed for app functionality, shared local state can be stored using Apple's App Groups framework.
- When using iPhone and Apple Watch together, certain app state can synchronize through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. iPad support may vary by feature, and iPhone and iPad early unlock balances are separate.
- Because HODL Time does not provide an account-based cloud service, local app data may be lost if you delete the app, reset your device, change devices, or restore from an incomplete backup.
- Please review the Privacy Policy for more detail about local storage, sync behavior, and third-party data providers.
5. Third-Party Services
- The app uses third-party market data sources such as Binance for Bitcoin pricing and Frankfurter or Open Exchange Rates for exchange-rate support.
- We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, timeliness, or completeness of third-party services or data.
- Apple provides the StoreKit purchase framework, notification permissions, widgets, and other platform services used by the app.
6. Availability, Sync, And Device Behavior
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the app or of any Apple system surface that displays app state.
- We do not guarantee that iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, widgets, or other surfaces will always update instantly or remain perfectly synchronized at every moment.
- Some features may behave differently when the device is offline, when data providers are unavailable, or when Apple system services are delayed.
7. Limitation Of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses or damages arising from the use of the app or reliance on information shown in the app.
- This includes losses related to delayed market data, unavailable third-party services, sync delays, StoreKit interruptions, or local device issues.
8. Changes To These Terms
- We may update these terms from time to time.
- Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
9. Governing Law
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
- Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
