Privacy Policy for HODL Time
Last updated: April 24, 2026
HODL Time is designed to work without creating an account or sending your personal data to our own servers. Throughout this document, references to "the app" refer to HODL Time across its supported Apple surfaces, including iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, widgets, and related system integrations.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not require account creation, login, or profile setup.
- We do not run our own analytics, advertising, or behavioral tracking systems.
- We do not collect or store personal information on external servers operated by us.
Data Stored On Your Device
- HODL Time stores app data locally on your device using Apple's local storage technologies, including App Groups where shared state is needed.
- Locally stored data can include settings such as selected currency pair, notification preferences, theme and display choices, portfolio settings and holdings if you enter them, and lock-related state.
- The app also stores local experience data such as price-viewing history, milestone history, total HODL time, and early unlock balances.
- This locally stored data is not sent to external servers operated by us.
Purchases And Early Unlocks
- Optional paid early unlocks are sold on iPhone and iPad using Apple's StoreKit framework.
- Purchase processing, payment authorization, receipts, refunds, and billing support are handled by Apple through the App Store.
- We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- The app may receive StoreKit product identifiers, transaction identifiers, purchase status, and verification results so completed consumable purchases can be delivered correctly.
- We may store local purchase-delivery state on your device, including processed consumable transaction identifiers, to prevent duplicate credit grants and help unfinished transactions recover cleanly.
- Early unlock balances may be stored separately per device. iPhone and iPad early unlock balances do not automatically transfer between those devices.
- Used consumables cannot be restored by Apple. Restore behavior is limited to unfinished transactions that Apple still makes available.
Cross-Device Sync
- When you use iPhone and Apple Watch together, certain app state can synchronize through Apple's App Groups and WatchConnectivity frameworks. iPad support may vary by feature.
- This synced state can include settings, lock state, total HODL time, milestone progress, early unlock balance, and portfolio preferences or holdings if you use those features.
- Apple Watch sync behavior depends on the paired iPhone and Apple system availability. iPhone and iPad early unlock balances are separate and are not a single shared cross-device account balance.
- All synced data remains inside Apple's ecosystem and is not exposed to external parties by us.
Widgets And Notifications
- Widgets and related system surfaces may display locally stored or app-group-shared state so the app can show the correct price, lock status, and HODL progress.
- If you enable notifications, the app uses local notifications for lock-end reminders and milestone reminders.
- Notification permissions are requested through Apple's system prompt only when you choose to enable them.
External Services
- Bitcoin price data is retrieved from Binance public market data endpoints.
- Exchange rates are retrieved from Frankfurter for most currencies and from Open Exchange Rates for certain additional currencies.
- Although we do not send personal profile data to these services, your device interacts with their servers when fetching market data.
- Please review those providers' own terms and privacy materials if you want more detail about their handling of requests.
Your Choices
- You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in system settings.
- You can remove locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device, subject to any data Apple may retain for App Store purchase, billing, tax, legal, or fraud-prevention purposes.
- Because HODL Time does not provide an account-based cloud service, deleting the app, resetting your device, changing devices, or restoring from an incomplete backup may remove locally stored settings, history, HODL progress, and early-unlock balances.
- You control whether to enter optional portfolio information or make optional paid early unlock purchases.
Changes To This Policy
- We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect product changes or legal updates.
- Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
